How to get a Job with No Experience

How to get a job with no experience

When I was 16 the only official job that I could get was dishwashing at an Italian restaurant. If you are below the age of 16 or just straight out of college, it’s possible that you will qualify for similar lack luster positions. The good news is that there are more opportunities now than ever. Why set up a lemonade stand when you can sell lemons on eBay? If you don’t want to sell anything, you can try something else, like valeting. It’s a great way to earn cash, especially when you’re just starting out. I list a few other suggestions that may be useful, but you might be interested in my previous blog about the 10 Best Careers without a 4-year degree.

Look For Jobs That Don’t Require Experience.

If you want to land a job without experience, you should focus on finding jobs that require less than five years of work experience. These positions include:

Job Title Average Salary
customer service representatives$54,125
retail sales associates$44,631
receptionists$45,957

You’ll find that employers are willing to hire newbies if they know that they can train them into qualified workers. If you are not excited about those cushy indoor jobs then you may be suited for outdoor jobs like landscaping, painting, or pressure washing. All of those outdoor jobs require some sort of experience, but most of us have done one of these things as a chore at some point.
